Punjab Government has taken a path-breaking decision to provide Debt-relief to farmers - Interest free crop loan of Rs 50,000 per crop to small and marginal farmers.
Punjab is the first state to introduce Cashless Health Insurance Scheme under Bhagat Puran Singh Bima Yojana for blue card holders, farmers, traders, employees and pensioners.The scheme has been started with a sole purpose of providing cashless healthcare in nearby hospitals of residences of beneficiaries since there was a broad list of empanelled hospitals situated in every nook and corner of Punjab. Besides cashless treatment to the extent of Rs. 50000 and an insurance of Rs.5 lac in case of accidental death or incapacitation of head of family.
Punjab govt is the only government in India which has paid attention to all segments of the society through its social welfare schemes! Benefits of Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bila Yojna has been provided to construction workers as well
